Overview of MDS Global

MDS Global (MDS) is a provider of revenue management solutions to Communication Service Providers, specialising in BSS solutions for Enterprise Services (B2B and B2B2X) and MVNOs.

MDS Global was founded in 1987 as the software division of Martin Dawes Telecoms (MDT). The first version of its product Dawes Information Systems Europe (DISE), a billing and customer care system went live in 1995. In 1997, MDT separated its software division into a new company called Martin Dawes Systems Ltd (MDS). MDT, along with 1.5 million subscribers, was sold to BT Cellnet, leaving MDS as a fully independent business.

MDS Global’s solution is offered as a cloud-based service, with a SaaS-based licence model. Its scope covers complex order management and fulfilment, real-time charging, billing and credit control and stakeholder self-service facilities. It automates, assures and reports on all the key order-to-cash, usage-to-cash and inquiry-to-response business processes faced by CSPs.

In 2013 it partnered with Matrixx to offer a convergent, realtime, pre- and post-paid billing platform. In 2018, it announced a partnership with Openet to offer a realtime charging component for its BSS-as-a-Service offering. It also launched its VNOnDemand Analytics solution, a suite of analytics capabilities designed specifically for MVNOs. It rebranded as MDS Global and, in July 2019, was acquired by Lumine Group.

MDS Global is based in Warrington (UK). Its key customers include BT Enterprise, Telefónica Business (UK), Colt, Eir, iD Mobile, KPN, Orange Belgium, Play Poland, Post Office UK, redONE, TalkTalk Business, Telia, VADSA, Veriown and Vodafone Greece.
