Telecom Argentina will use Nokia for enterprise IoT support

Telecom Argentina has signed with Nokia to support its enterprise customers in Argentina and across Latin America with the Nokia Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING).
Telecom is a convergent connectivity solutions company, which resulted from the integration of two large Argentine companies: Telecom and Cablevisión. It offers fixed and mobile telephony, data transmission, pay TV and Internet services for individuals, companies and governments, as well as mobile services in Paraguay and pay TV in Uruguay.
Telecom Argentina is the first company in Argentina to adopt Nokia’s  WING infrastructure, which is offered as a managed service. WING enables companies to accelerate the launch of their IoT services in industry verticals such as automotive, agriculture, utilities, finance and services. Nokia’s IMPACT platform will be used by Telecom to provide device management services, creating further value-added opportunities both today and as 5G takes off.
According to the GSMA, Latin American IoT revenue is expected to grow to USD47 billion by 2025. While consumer and smart homes markets are the most obvious implementations of IoT currently, it’s the Industrial IoT that will be the biggest source of growth and of revenues going forward.
“We’re expanding our capabilities to offer end-to-end solutions to our enterprise customers and solve their IoT-related needs with faster time-to-market,” commented Fernando Freytes, IoT Manager, Telecom Argentina. “With this new technology, we will reinforce our leadership in IoT, providing not only connectivity but all that’s needed to help our customers maximize their IoT potential.”
